This video does an excellent job of dispelling the myth of following your passions. It's not that that is bad advice, it's just doesn't ring true in practice when it comes to business.
Business is hard because it's hard. There's no way around it.
Doing your passion as a business usually just makes your hate your passion. I bet your passion has nothing to do with accounting, invoicing, documentation, contracts, compliance, or any of the other things you have to navigate as a business owner. And that is ok.
Interests gets your started. Proficiency keeps you going. But pain tolerance helps you finish.
Friction and pain are just normal parts of life. It's how we learn and learning to accept that they will be present and to push through them is the real skill.
