The Rare Double Post - Commitment and Focus
Had some short thoughts to share that I didn't want to sit on longer:

Commitment
I got this quote from Benjamin Hardy's Friday Prompts newsletter and not going to lie – it made me reconsider a lot in my life:
- Intentions ≠ commitments.
- Actions ≠ commitments.
- Behaviors, habits, systems ≠ commitments.
- Only results = commitments.
It hit me: I’ve been equating intentions, actions, and habits with commitment. I was wrong. Or rather, it’s just not a useful way to define commitment. Results are the only true measure over the long-term.
Strategies and mindsets are just tools. Results are the goal. If you’re not getting results, what you’re doing isn’t aligned with your commitments. Adjust your intentions, actions, habits, and systems until they are.
Note: some factors are outside your control. You can't control other people, you can't control acts of god, you can't control some sickness, etc. But those are short-term hurdles. Over the long-term, results will happen if you're taking the necessary actions and adjusting as needed.

Who Pays For Your Lack of Focus?
Your family, your friends, your partner, and your children are usually the ones who pay the biggest price for your lack of focus.
When you don't lock in when you're supposed to, you take time away from the closet relationships in your life. They are the one who miss out because you have to "do this thing real quick" or you need to be in the office late to "knock out this last minute thing."
Your lack of focus has a cost.
The ones you love are those who end up paying for it.
Lock in today.
