Every Friday, I share other great content (with some added context) to dive into over the weekend.

a16z Podcast: How to Decide, Convey vs. Convince, & More w/ Annie Duke

Annie Duke is a former professional poker player with over $4 million in career earnings. She’s since turned into a decision strategist.

4 Life-Changing Quotes from Benjamin Hardy

Having commitment issues? Here are four quotes that can help you move forward with greater commitment.

  1. “Commitment is a statement of what is. From our perspective, you can know your commitments by your results, not by what you say your commitments are.”
  2. “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. […]”
  3. “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
  4. “We are kept from our goal not by obstacles but by a clear path to a lesser goal.”

From psychology, there are two orientations. You’re either approaching something or avoiding something. Being committed is taking on an approach orientation.
