A Portrait of Freddie Gibbs Atop the Mountain

One of the most slept on rappers is finally getting his flowers. He’s now Grammy nominated Gangsta Gibbs.

If you’re unfamiliar with his music I suggest you start with Palmolive (my favorite track of his that also features an impeccable Pusha-T verse).

The Gary, Indiana, native has survived the drug game, a foreign arrest and trial, and years of major label purgatory to become one of the greatest rappers of his—or any—generation. This Sunday, he’s up for a Grammy, and life is looking pretty good.

Scientists may have solved ancient mystery of 'first computer'

The Antikythera mechanism is a remarkable and baffling astronomical calculator that survives from the ancient world. The hand-powered, 2,000-year-old device displayed the motion of the universe, predicting the movement of the five known planets, the phases of the moon and the solar and lunar eclipses. But quite how it achieved such impressive feats has proved fiendishly hard to untangle.

Scientists think they’ve figured it out.

USA vs. China: The Battle for Bitcoin Mining Supremacy | WSJ

There’s an important battle going on behind the scenes to control Bitcoin between the superpowers of the US and China. In the past, you could mine the cryptocurrency with a laptop. Now, industrial mining farms do much of this work and its big business that will be even bigger in the coming years.
