Beyoncé shows blamed for fueling inflation in Sweden
I knew the tickets for The Renaissance World Tour were high, but now they're causing inflation in countries too??
Exhibit A: Sweden. Tens of thousands of fans in the US facing high ticket prices due to demand for the world tour sought cheaper options abroad in Europe. Tickets that were going for $2k+ in New York and LA could be had for $200 in Sweden.
This influx in fans, though good for tourism, pushed prices up for the Swedes.
Sweden’s annual inflation rate declined 0.2% from April to May, from 8.4% to 8.2% excluding energy costs, official statistics show — a smaller decline than economists had expected, thanks in part to higher spending on hotels and restaurants during May. Economists had forecast inflation to reach 7.8% in May.
