Day 4-5 Recap: Be as Unbothered as Jeezy

We did it. GEW is coming to a close very soon and thank you all for your support.

We have a good lineup of events today and a few more through Monday (see below).

So about the Verzuz last night between Jeezy and Gucci. I like both but I’m a bigger fan Gucci. He always felt like the underdog and I respected his work ethic though his decision making was always questionable.

As I watched Gucci really try to show out yesterday, it actually made me appreciate the mindset of Jeezy. Unbothered. Focused.

Gucci bragged that he had $5 million dollars of jewelry on and that his outfit cost $10k.

Jeezy’s rebuttal was that he wanted to talk real estate. He owns half of Atlanta.

Ouch.

Your mentality will ultimately determine your final destination. Gucci by all accounts is doing well, but he hasn’t really grown to see the bigger picture. He was still trying to score “points” against a rival with high school comebacks.

At some point, you have to grow up and see the bigger picture and Jeezy modeled that for all of us last night. His battle wasn’t against Gucci. He was battling himself. He knew that if he could control his emotions it would be better for Hip-Hop. His movement was bigger than the moment.

Stay focused on my goals and let the small talk be small. If you have a bigger for your life, that’s how you should operate.
